Cantook Connector “the app” provides a system for publishers “the merchant” who are using DeMarque services to host and protect their digital products, and Shopify to power their online store, to synchronise information bidirectionally between the DeMarque database and the Shopify platform “the service”. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal information collected by the app

When you install the app, we collect information from your Shopify account, including the store owner contact and email information. We also collect the Publisher ID entered in the app to validate your credential and allow the synchronisation of your books from the DeMarque Database to the Shopify store. 

When a customer makes a purchase on your Shopify store, we will collect their name, email, and information on the products they have purchased and send the information to the DeMarque system for order fulfillment.  

The app, once installed, is automatically able to access certain information from your Shopify store:

• Product information: Description, cover and back images, price, author, language, variants, collections. All fields necessary for a buyer to purchase your books. 
• Theme: Theme templates, assets and tags found in your template files.
• Orders: Client name, email and ID of products sold. 

The app service is limited to the synchronisation and exchange of information between the DeMarque and Shopify Database. The app stores the book's metadata in its database to accelerate synchronization and track synchronization progress.

How do we use your personal information? 

We only use the personal information we collect from you or your customers to provide the Service intended to properly operate the App. Additionally, we may use your personal information to communicate with you; optimize or improve the App Service; and provide you with information or advertising related to our services.
