The beginning of our incredible journey from non-technical online store operators to running an esteemed development agency, all within Shopify's fantastic ecosystem. While working as consultants helping retailers improve their back-office operations, one of our clients offered us to start an online franchise for their retail chain. We jumped on the occasion and launched our first store on Shopify in 2007, less than a year after the platform launched with a mission to democratize commerce. After six years as Shopify merchants, the time came for us to evolve into the next iteration of our adventure. We sold our store and pivoted to service, becoming one of Montreal's first Shopify Expert Partners. During our years as merchants, every changes and optimizations were complex as no one was doing Shopify back then, especially in French here in Montreal. We transitioned to service and made it our mission to help merchants with the knowledge we gained during our years on the platform and simplify commerce for everyone. 

While learning the ins and outs of B2B service offerings, our team decided to embrace a new challenge and explore the technical side of commerce. It was at this time we met Molsoft's third co-founder; we hired our first developer, and a few months later, we launched our first app on the Shopify App store. After ten amazing years in the Shopify eco-system as merchants, then partners, development seemed like the normal progression for us to keep evolving in this booming industry. 

After twelve years of learning, experimenting, helping, building, and evolving in an eco-system that had grown exponentially, we officially launched Molsoft, an eCommerce specialized agency dedicated to the Shopify platform. While our mission to deliver value did not change, our focus turned to code and bespoke commerce solutions for brands and retailers. Our longstanding commitment to the Shopify eco-system and eCommerce paid off, as shortly after officially launching Molsoft, the SoftSquad was rewarded for its contribution and invited to join the prestigious Shopify Plus Partner program :)
